Assadaqaat Community Finance (ACF) are a not-for-profit organisation based in Wales, aiming to address social and financial exclusion, financial inequality and eradicate poverty. They provide interest-free finance with the goal of empowering individuals to cultivate economic opportunities for strong and inclusive growth. ACF plan to have one of the largest global networks offering financial support and advice to start small and medium enterprises to hundreds of individuals each year.

Case studyACF Women Entrepreneurship Programme
Objective

  • To highlight the existence of the fantastic Women Entrepreneurship Programme that ACF offers
  • To inspire women to become key drivers of economic growth and agents for change in Wales and beyond
  • To empower women with the ability to start and run their own MSMEs (micro, small and medium-sized enterprises) so that they can become financially inclusive and build their incomes as a result.
Mechanics

  • Inform women, especially those in the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, of these free online courses delivered by ACF over Zoom
  • Create strong content and copy highlighting all key benefits of the programme
  • Advertise on ACF’s Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram to build awareness in specific areas
  • Word of mouth – encouraging attendees to share the success with female friends and family, in the hope that they will also be interested in registering too
  • Feedback questionnaires from the attendees, asking what they liked, what could be improved, their overall thoughts of what the sessions achieved in terms of helping and supporting them
  • Telephone and email those who have registered previously but were then unable to attend, to encourage attendance of the next cohort.
Outcome

So far…

  • Increase in number of cohort attendees – we are approaching cohort four (May 26th 2021) and we have seen the numbers grow since the first cohort which is excellent.
